Undercooled phase behind the glass phase with superheated medium-range order above glass transition temperature

چکیده

Rapidly quenched glass formers are amorphous and transformed into phases by relaxing enthalpy during the first heating. Two liquids give rise, at first, to an intermediate Phase 3 below T3 < Tg respecting entropy constraints then, increases towards that of phase up Tg. The negative activation energy shows is hidden behind glassy acting as invasive second cooling. carries a medium-range order above which can be superheated melting temperature Tn+. two-liquid state model predicts thermodynamic properties well relaxation times from 1 2. configuron successfully applied 54 glasses explaining transitions percolation ‘ordered’ fraction equal critical threshold Φc = 0.15 ± 0.01

Metastable dynamics above the glass transition.

The element of metastability is incorporated in the fluctuating nonlinear hydrodynamic description of the mode coupling theory (MCT) of the liquidglass transition. This is achieved through the introduction of the defect density variable n into the set of slow variables with the mass density ρ and the momentum density g. As a first approximation, we consider the case where motions associated wit...

Zero-temperature quantum annealing bottlenecks in the spin-glass phase

A promising approach to solving hard binary optimization problems is quantum adiabatic annealing in a transverse magnetic field. An instantaneous ground state-initially a symmetric superposition of all possible assignments of N qubits-is closely tracked as it becomes more and more localized near the global minimum of the classical energy. Regions where the energy gap to excited states is small ...

Spin-Glass Phase in the Random Temperature Ising Ferromagnet

In this paper we study the phase diagram of the disordered Ising ferromagnet. Within the framework of the Gaussian variational approximation it is shown that in systems with a finite value of the disorder in dimensions D = 4 and D < 4 the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic phases are separated by a spin-glass phase. The transition from paramagnetic to spin-glass state is continuous (second-order), ...

The Valence Bond Glass phase

We show that a new glassy phase can emerge in presence of strong magnetic frustration and quantum fluctuations. It is a Valence Bond Glass. We study its properties solving the Hubbard-Heisenberg model on a Bethe lattice within the large N limit introduced by Affleck and Marston. We work out the phase diagram that contains Fermi liquid, dimer and valence bond glass phases. This new glassy phase ...

Fluctuation-induced first order transition due to Griffiths anomalies of the Cluster glass phase

In itinerant magnetic systems with disorder, the quantum Griffiths phase at T = 0 is unstable to formation of a cluster glass (CG) of frozen droplet degrees of freedom. In the absence of the fluctuations associated with these degrees of freedom, the transition from the paramagnetic Fermi liquid (PMFL) to the ordered phase proceeds via a conventional second-order quantum phase transition. Howeve...
